In this Commonwealth games celebration Event
Oldbury Swim & Tri club at Sandwell Valley are 'tri-ing' something new!
A brand new event is set to take place this summer, where you could begin a new sporting adventure.
An aquathlon consists of a swim, followed by a run. The distances in each discipline of this event will be 400m swim and a 2.5k run or 750m swim and a 5k run. This is aimed at all levels, especially beginners!
Not only will Jodie Stimpson be a part of your first tri experience, Jodie will also be joining you in your race
This event is supported and registered with Triathlon England, the governing body of the sport.
The swim takes place in Swan Pool boating/swimming Lake and is the same as the two other adult Events in the festival. The lake has both a 750m marked buoy circular circuit and a 400m marked buoy triangular circuit.
The Run is a simple but interesting circuit on gravel pathways close to the lake area, finishing off in the Arena Field near Sandwell Farm.
Training days: as part of the “Sandwell Festival of Triathlon†entrants to these Events are invited to participate in one or both of two FREE training days organised to give people open water training experience, Transition advice and practice as well as cycling & running skills advice
