The awful weather from Saturday night lead to a number of puddles and a fairly slippy course. As usual there is the normal unplanned dismount on the first corner but aside from that a smooth run event was had by all. A slight delay in the presentation caused by a new set of temporary traffic lights which appeared over night. Apologies for those who had to leave. Regional Results will be posted tomorrow evening else they are in the usual place.

Giving it the Finger?

On a four yearly basis I am inspired to write about the olympics and its genarally about the swimming, this time around I am pleased to want to talk about the British Swim Team, I would generally comment more often but I don't think this website is read by *real* swimmers and so I keep it close to the triathlon fold, on this occasion I think I'll give it further output.
How about that Rebecca Adlington Eh?
Now I think the last time I wrote anything substantial about swimming I was discusssing the Masters Champs at Sheffield last October/November when I watched a couple of Loughborough guys go stroke for stroke in around 3:50, which I was rather impressed with, however it was not the time that excited me to write about Rebecca.
We often discuss and encourage fellow swimmers to reach, go for the touch, Swimming races are won by tenths of seconds and she proved this point so well. From the underwater shot you can see her fingers outstretched and clearly Hoff's hand up to pad the wall. As I said, its the little things.

I was pretty sure that I already stuck this somewhere but alas I was asked about it and could not find it myself, I've have sucumbed to the you tube thing and its currently processing. My only regret was that I didn't have a high Def camera at the time. According to some and others will back me up on this, as Faithless started to play through the speakers the water got just a little warmer....

Despite a few minor issues on the start line all the results are pretty correct, if you think you are a minute out then please drop me a line although bear in mind the split matt is alittle further away than in previous years. I'll be pushing an update tonight ( Tuesday reflecting any comments I have recieved so far)
Well done to all who took part and it does go to show that the good club race still exists. I've been quiet of late but the next post should explain a lot of that.

Well later than usual, and I am blaming Virgin Media on this one, I am posting the results for the event, there are a couple of people missing names, but I belive its all there and good. The photos are taking for ever on the laptop so I've cancelled the process and moving to the desktop PC to homefully speed things up a little.
Highlights for the winners and there is only prizes for the M/F 123 are:

Richard Gregory (1:18:03)
Mark Garratt (1:20:38)
Dale Hanson (1:25:20)Ladies

Hetty Bostock (1:42:36)
Joan Clarke (1:43:03)
Kate Loach (1:43:39)
Interesting that just over 1 minute separated the ladies as a whole Photos coming very soonUpdate! Photos and Results should all be online in th usual places

Well a chipper 45 people rolled out for the pleasant Wednesday night run, Good stuff and the womens record went by a substantial amount too. Tom Warrender made it two out of two although missed out on his breaking his record in a time of 15:49 (OMG!) and Richard Baker managed to keep his 26 events in 25 days going nicely. Richard has a Blog which when I find the link for it I will post along with a podcast from Richard.
The ladies race was won by Karen Hallas in time of 18:45 (CR), followed up by Jane Jones in 19:05.
Congratulations to the Living Springs Ladies who rolled out again for the event, it was lovely to you all there and we look forward to seeing you all there again on the 30th July. Entering early makes it all a little bit cheaper and much more straightforward us.
