Registration for the Aspire Torch Staircase Run is hosted by StuWeb.co.uk. Please see http://www.stuweb.co.uk/online-entry.php.
ARRIVAL & PARKING
Approaching the Torch Hotel at Aspire area from Doha on Al Waab St and turn right onto the Villaggio entrance roadway. At the 2nd island turn right between the Ladies Club and Aspire Mosque and park on your right hand side. Please do not use the Torch Hotel parking.
RACE DAY RACE PACK COLLECTION
Race pack collection begins at 07.15. with racing starting at 09.00. Registration is at the Torch Hotel itself. Your race pack will contain your Race Number. On the reverse is a box for essential information – please fill this out. DO NOT tamper with the timing chip that is affixed to the reverse of your race number.
ELECTRONIC TIMING
To ensure accurate times and results, every competitor will need to pin their race number to the front of their race top. The race number contains your timing chip. Using this cutting edge technology will mean that category positions and results will be updated live as competitors pass the finish line.
THE RACE
We are honoured to be hosting the Inaugural World Championships at Aspire. The format for the World Championships covers 3 races with all competitors having the opportunity to race for the World Title.
Friday 27th March
Race 1 is a Time Trail format and will see all competitors race from the bottom of the Torch to the top floor – floor 51 which is a total of 1304 steps. You will set off at pre-set intervals as directed by the start official. You should be ready to start at least 5-10 minutes before your allotted start time. (This will be issued along with other details, via email, approximately 5 days before the race.
Race 2 is also a Time Trial format and will see the top 30 men and top 30 women from race 1 race from the bottom of the Torch to floor 30. This race will be in the afternoon of the 27th March.
Saturday 28th March
Race 3 The World Championship Race! This will take place the following day (Saturday) and will be a mass start event. The Top 30 Women and Top 30 Men will have separate races with a “Grand Prix†style start from outside of the hotel on the spine road. The starts will be seeded on the aggregate time from Races 1 & 2. Those qualified athletes will race a slightly different route to the finish on floor 50. Full details in the race information to be emailed out prior to the event.

FINISH
The Finish line set up differs for each race however, after Race 1 – all finishers will be given a medal and memento and have a photo opportunity upon completion.
Refreshments are offered to all entrants.
PRIZES & AWARDS
Awards for the open race are in the following categories
- Male and Female
- Under 21
- Open
- 40+
- 50+
The World Championships will have Male and Female prizes for the Top 5 Finishers overall.
There is also a Team Prize for the World Championship for the fastest Nationality team comprising the combined time of fastest Male, Fastest Female and next fastest competitor.
ADDITIONAL EVENTS
To complement the Aspire Torch Staircase Run Featuring the World Towerruning Championships 2015, additional activities will take place across the weekend including various activations and active challenges for the family.
