OutRun has established itself over the last 4 years as the premier LGBTQ+ and allies run in the Glasgow area. We started the race with the aim to improve inclusion and visibility of LGBTQ+ people in the Glasgow running community and give them a friendly, welcoming road race which is for them. Our reputation has grown and we know that FrontRunners across the UK and our friends look forward to our fixture on their race calendars. In our fifth year we want you to help us make this our biggest ever event.

OutRun is run over an officially measured 5-mile course in some of Glasgow's most iconic dear green places, Kelvingrove Park, the Botanic Gardens and the Kelvin walkway. Our scenic course is mostly flat, though everyone who's run it will tell you they relish the challenge of our legendary 'small incline'.

Registration costs £14.50/£12.50 (plus 75p admin). Places are limited to 500 runners, so register early to make sure that you get a place!

There will be prizes for:

  • 1st overall (male, female and non-binary)
  • 1st Veteran* (male, female and non-binary)
  • 1st FrontRunner (male, female and non-binary)
  • Largest Team (£50 donation to a charity of your choice)
  • Best Finish
  • Best Dressed

All runners will receive a goody bag and a technical OUTrun t-shirt.

Please note that we are committed to equal prize giving and as such all gender categories are eligible prizes

The Start and Finish location is in Kelvingrove Park, on the Prince of Wales Bridge. The race begins in front of the Thomas Carlyle statue. These are best accessed from the north end of Kelvin Way.

Participant information packs will be issued in advance of the race with more details on meeting times, locations and bib collection process.

*Our Veteran category is open to participants aged 50 or over

Our Charity Partner

Glasgow FrontRunners are also delighted to confirm we will be partnering with LGBT Youth Scotland this year as our charity partner. They provide support services for young LGBT people at what is among the toughest times in a young LGBTQ+ person's life.

We will be raising money through donations on the day and through sale of baked goods at the finish line. You can also donate directly via their website. To find out more about what LGBT Youth Scotland do visit their website www.lgbtyouth.org.uk

Main Event Sponsors

Glasgow FrontRunners would also like to extend our thanks and appreciation to our main sponsors, Leap Sports Scotland and Queen's Cross Housing Association for their continued and generous support of our event.

OUTrun is organized by Glasgow FrontRunners (GFR), Scotland's largest LGBTQ+ running club. Our goal is to highlight and promote LGBTQ+ participation in sport. GFR club runners have benefited from the many events organized by other local running groups, OUTrun is our way of giving something back to the wider running community by providing an additional running event to the race calendar. We hope that members from all areas of the running community will come along and help us celebrate with a fun and scenic run in the West End of Glasgow! For more information about our club and what we do see our webpage or Facebook page.
