Prime Viewing Spots:

Start/Finish Area: The hub of race-day excitement! Catch the warm-ups, cheer the runners off at 10:00 AM, and be there for the high-energy finish line moments.
The Delph Locks (9 Locks): Head to the lock flight for a fantastic viewpoint. Watch runners tackle the climb while enjoying the historic canal backdrop.

Parking and Accessibility: Local council and town center parking are within walking distance of the start area. Spectators are encouraged to travel together where possible.
Safety Rules for Spectators: Please remain clear of narrow towpath sections to allow safe passage for runners and general canal users. Keep dogs on short leads at all times.

Essential Race-Day Info

Registration/Bib Collection: Opens at 08:00 AM on race morning (Arrive early to avoid queues).
Race Briefing: 09:30 AM at the main start gantry.
Footwear Recommendation: Road-to-trail running shoes are recommended, as canal towpaths can get slick during late November.

What footwear is recommended for the route?	Hybrid or road-to-trail running shoes are recommended. November weather can make sections of the canal towpath and mixed-terrain paths wet or slippery.
Is there a cut-off time for the race?	Yes, the course cut-off time is 2 hours (12:00 PM). This provides plenty of time for both runners and walkers to comfortably complete the 10km distance.
Can I run with a dog or a running buggy?	Due to safety restrictions on narrow, unbarricaded canal towpaths, running with dogs (canicross) or pushchairs/buggies is strictly prohibited.
Where do I pick up my race bib and timing chip?	Race numbers and integrated StuWeb timing chips can be collected on race morning at the registration desk between 08:00 AM onwards.
Are headphones permitted during the race?	Standard in-ear or over-ear headphones are not allowed so runners can hear marshal instructions and warnings on narrow paths. Bone-conduction headphones are permitted.
