The Bluestone Pembrokeshire Coast Triathlon is based at Broad Haven in St. Bride's Bay, a stunning beach setting in the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The event has the support of the local community, Pembrokeshire County Council, Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, along with numerous sponsors and supporters.
The course has been designed to be challenging, but enjoyable, with superb scenery. The event is suitable for everyone, from novices to seasoned triathletes. Relay teams have become a special part of the event, with up to 40 (!) teams competing for top honours, but mainly just enjoying being part of a team.
The swim never ventures further than 200m from shore, with experienced kayakers and a RIB at hand to make you feel extra safe. The bike is best described as challenging, with some descent climbs and fast descents, but always great scenery. The run takes the award for the best scenery, however – the first 3km are on the beach and coast path, with superb views across St. Bride's Bay to St. David's and RSPB Ramsey Island. The beach finish is renowned!
